Skull Cemetery in Bali
Skulls lined up in a row on a rock wall at Trunyan cemetery in Bali Indonesia. Instead of cremation, which is customary for Hindus in Bali, the dead are laid below an old an massive banyan tree. The skulls on display are remnants of those who have already passed onto the next life as is believed by the Balinese. Lush green tropical foliage grows out of the rock wall and the area above the human skulls.
